Few notes about promoting your website in 2023
Few days ago I have started my new project and wanted to see, how can I promote it. After some research I came across several techniques and wanted to share them here.
In the good old days we used to have sites, that provided back-linking. Turns out, that in 2023 this won’t work so well – search engines have become smarter (when?) and will detect such “promotions” and in fact this will be more negative to your website scoring.. Damn. 🙂
There are still websites that offer backlinking services for a fee. However, it’s important to note that many of these services can be ineffective, and in some cases, they can even harm your website’s search engine ranking.
Search engines like Google use complex algorithms to determine the relevance and quality of a website, and the purchase of backlinks is considered a manipulation of those algorithms. As a result, Google has implemented strict penalties for websites caught participating in backlink schemes, which can include a decrease in search engine rankings or even being banned from the search engine altogether.
Therefore, it’s generally not recommended to purchase backlinks. Instead, it’s better to focus on building high-quality, organic backlinks through content marketing, guest blogging, and other legitimate link-building techniques. This can be time-consuming, but it’s a more sustainable and effective way to improve your website’s search engine ranking in the long run.
Wait. What is guest blogging?
Guest blogging is a process where you write and publish a blog post on someone else’s website, with the goal of promoting your own brand, website, or product. The host website, in return, allows you to include a link back to your own website within the post, which can help drive traffic and improve your search engine rankings.
Guest blogging is considered a legitimate link-building strategy because it provides value to the host website by offering fresh content for their audience, and it also provides value to the guest blogger by giving them exposure to a new audience and the opportunity to build backlinks.
When done correctly, guest blogging can be a great way to build relationships, drive traffic, and improve your search engine ranking. However, it’s important to only guest blog on reputable websites within your niche and to create high-quality content that provides real value to the host website’s audience. Spamming websites with low-quality guest posts or guest posting purely for the sake of building backlinks can harm your reputation and hurt your search engine rankings.
Hm.. Can I buy guest posting or guest blogging?
There are a number of websites and services that offer guest blog post opportunities for a fee. However, it’s important to be cautious when purchasing guest posts, as many of these services may not provide high-quality content or may publish your post on low-quality or spammy websites.
In some cases, these services may even engage in black-hat SEO tactics, such as buying and selling links, which can result in penalties from search engines like Google.
It’s generally recommended to avoid purchasing guest posts and to instead focus on building high-quality, organic backlinks through legitimate link-building strategies such as content marketing, networking, and reaching out to websites in your niche to request guest blog opportunities. By doing so, you can improve your search engine ranking in a sustainable and effective manner.
Wow. Black hat SEO? Have you heard about it?
Black hat SEO tactics are unethical and often illegal practices used to manipulate a website’s search engine rankings. These tactics are in direct violation of search engine guidelines and can result in penalties or even being banned from search engines altogether.
Examples of black hat SEO tactics include:
- Keyword stuffing: Overloading a webpage with keywords in an attempt to manipulate search engine rankings.
- Hidden text or links: Hiding text or links on a page with the intent of manipulating search engine rankings.
- Link schemes: Purchasing or exchanging links with the intention of manipulating search engine rankings.
- Cloaking: Presenting different content or URLs to search engines than to users.
- Duplicate content: Copying content from other websites and publishing it on your own site.
- Spamming: Posting low-quality or irrelevant content on forums, blogs, or other websites for the purpose of manipulating search engine rankings.
- Doorway pages: Creating pages that are designed solely for the purpose of manipulating search engine rankings and redirecting users to a different page.
It’s important to avoid using black hat SEO tactics, as they can result in serious penalties from search engines and harm your website’s reputation and visibility in the long run. Instead, it’s recommended to focus on using white hat SEO tactics, such as creating high-quality content, building organic backlinks, and following best practices for on-page optimization.
This was long reading and long writing.
